Worn out!

It's been quite hectic around the Egan house over the last several days...goodbyes to friends, packing countless boxes and a stomach bug for Daddy and Mommy. Jack never really naps anymore (and I mean NEVER), so I was shocked when he crashed the other day. His rest time usually consists of reading books and building with blocks, but I realized that it seemed awfully quiet in his room. When Sawyer and I went in to find him, we were surprised to not see him in his bed playing. It actually took me a moment to locate him...curled up in the corner of his room and tucked beneath the curtains. I guess we are all needing a rest these days! :)

Forever friends

Tonight I had the privilege of seeing Jack as he relished his time with his first true best friend, Cooper. We took Cooper out with us on an adventure...playtime at the Dragon Park (running, mud, chalk, fighting dragons, etc.), dinner at The Dog, yummy ice cream, and a CVS trip that the boys thought was magical together. It was so special to see them together as they now truly play together and carry on their own conversations. Jack and Cooper have been friends since July 11, 2006...the day Jack was born. They've grown up together these past 3 years and have shared countless holidays and experiences together. They were brothers before they really had little brothers.

I am so excited for what the future holds in store for our family and the Barons, but I am heartbroken to split these little boys up. I know that they will always be close because Amanda is my sister, but I am certain that Jack will experience a loss in less than two weeks when he separates from his best pal, Cooper. I'm so sorry, Jack, and I will be there to hold you when you miss your friend.

Chomp!

He's normally all smiles and sweetness, but Sawyer has officially told Jack, "Enough is enough!" For 14 months Jack has been a wonderful brother, BUT he does have an amazing ability and drive to annoy his little brother. Well Sawyer has now let him know that the tides are turning...he actually bit back! Of course, we firmly told him "No biting!" but Scott and I both had little mental grins! :) Payback!

Trick-or-Treat

We had a fabulous time on Halloween night with our Nashville family, the Barons. Jack and Cooper (aka T-Rex and Wolverine) have spent their four Halloweens together, and they loved running from door to door together again this year. Sawyer and Tucker (the bumble bee and dragon) took the night in and were quite the troopers as we trapsed around the neighborhood. We feel so lucky to have shared our time in Nashville with Amanda, Chris and their kiddos. Amanda is truly a sister to me....maybe they can follow us to the next place??? :)

Picasso or Ringo?

Jack is experimenting with all aspects of his creativity these days. He is obsessed with drawing faces and storms, and at the same time is drawn to instruments and singing. He really can wail away on the drums! I feel like our life is one great big song! Thankfully, he loves Christmas carols just like his Mommy and we've officially started singing them in our house...and in our car....and in the bath...and at the playground...poor Daddy!
